For six decades, NASA has led the peaceful exploration of space, making discoveries about our planet, our solar system, and our universe. From October 2018 through December 2022, NASA will mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Program that landed a dozen astronauts on the Moon between July 1969 and December 1972 and NASA’s first crewed mission – Apollo 8 – that circumnavigated the Moon in December 1968.
To celebrate this momentous anniversary and the release of Adobe Dimension 2.1, Adobe challenged artists to imagine the past or future NASA missions to travel to the moon and beyond. Partnering with NASA, Adobe 3D Stock provided a free library of 3D models for artists to use from its NASA: 60th Anniversary 3D Celebration gallery.
Special guest judge former NASA astronaut Nicole Stott, a veteran of two missions to the International Space Station and the astronaut who painted the first watercolor in space, has judged the submissions with the Adobe Dimension team and challenge host Randall Mackey.
